This summer we are launching parent training for “Shoe Tying Made Simple”! We can come to YOU online through a group setting. What comes with the fee?

Learn from the creator of “Shoe Tying Made Simple”, Kelly Wilk-Downs! Kelly will reveal her knowledge and experience to you regarding her success teaching shoe tying to children. Discover how easy it is to teach children how to tie their shoes using the Shoe Tying Made Simple teaching sneakers as Kelly reviews the step-by-step process of Shoe Tying Made Simple. Kelly will be able to answer any questions you may have about Shoe Tying fundamentals and how to get beyond the tasks your child may find difficult. Enhance your understanding of our products by learning from the expert!

  • We will send you a Blue and Yellow Teaching Sneaker two weeks prior to the “Shoe Tying Made Simple” group session. Shipping and Handling are included.
  • Also included is the “Parent Homework for Shoe Tying Made Simple” to help parents break down the process of shoe tying. This may only be necessary for children with special learning needs or children who want to learn at a slower pace.
  • The price of the class includes a Teaching Sneaker and group demonstration of the method.
  • Consultation, feedback and suggestions on how to structure the teaching process are also included.

Virtual, self-paced “Shoe Tying Made Simple” Instructional Course for Parents

We have new family training for Parents on “Shoe Tying Made Simple”. Help to get children ready for kindergarten by working on shoe tying over the summer. Boost young children’s fine motor skills, with fun, hands-on activities using our teaching sneakers as lacing cards, fine motor games and activities, rhymes and songs and free giveaways are included with your family registration!

Prepare Children for the Upcoming School Year by Increasing Independence

The purpose of this parent training is to teach young children to tie their shoes! The material is presented in a fun, easy to understand format and includes a teaching sneaker and bicolored shoelaces. You will have access to our teaching song and FREE parent handouts. We will review some play-based manipulatives to prepare “little hands” for learning this skill. Give your children something purposeful to work on over the summer months that is meaningful to them and boosts their independence.

Description and Objectives
This is a Virtual, self-paced one hour course. In this parent training we will provide examples, videos, and active demonstration showing how easy it is to teach shoe tying using a multisensory approach to the task. This course is intended for families with children ranging from four – six years of age or families with children with special needs.
  1. Understand the importance of hands-on learning to promote developmental readiness
  2. Learn how to include music, strengthening activities, tips to decipher R/L hand dominance
  3. Learn how to present the information to various learning styles
  4. Help the child develop confidence and independence with self-care skills
